SINGAPORE (Mothership) –  A freehold shophouse along Kitchener Road in Farrer Park has been sold for S$8 million — just slightly more than five months after it was bought for S$4.3 million — netting a profit of S$3.7 million for the seller.

Last week on 21 June, a 3-bedroom unit was sold at Trevose Park for S$3.22 million. This is the second highest 3-bedder sold in the development after a ground floor unit sold at S$3.265 million last year.

SINGAPORE – Being married to a tax consultant helped seasoned property investor Aaron Wan figure out a way to avoid paying additional buyer’s stamp duty (ABSD) when he bought a more upscale property.

One reopening, the owner of a three-bedroom unit at The Sea View in District 15 managed to sell his property solely through virtual viewings. According to Aaron Wan, group district director at PropNex Realty and the seller’s agent, the 1,410 sq ft unit will go for $2.85 million ($2,021 psf) when the option to purchase is eventually signed.

While most Singaporeans his age are moving into or living in their BTOs, 32-year-old Aaron Wan just moved into his S$7 million, freehold, close to 10,000² ft landed property in District 15. And this purchase was made through these uncertain times of COVID-19, to boot. The immense success this young PropNex division leader was not by sheer luck or coincidence; Aaron strictly adhered himself to a lifestyle that is now the cornerstone of his very own ‘28’ programme.

According to Aaron Wan, group district director at PropNex Realty and the agent representing the seller, the deal was closed within a day and the buyer is paying for the entire transaction in cash. Wan says the seller recently purchased a new condominium unit.

We visit with Aaron today to learn more about this enterprising young man who bought his first private property at the age of 23.
